Blog Recipes & last weeks Fire Bites

My niche with the blog is to manage our recipes section of the blog since I love to cook and love trying new recipes. I’ve been thinking for a {lonnngg} while about ways to make the recipes on here easy to find and accessible  since switching over to word press a couple months ago. Its not an easy task when you don’t really know what you’re doing and having to learn something that’s like greek! 😉  So we started by adding a recipe ‘carousel’ slideshow at the bottom of the page of our blog where you can scroll through the recipes we’ve posted starting with the most recent. I hope you’ll check it out!! Hopefully it will be a reminder of some great and simple healthy recipes like it has been for me as I’ve been going through them.

MONDAY 11/7

pre-workout – 2pts

post workout – green protein smoothie – opts

 

lunch – protein pancake with strawberries and redi whip -5

 

started a new show with my hubby – Blue Bloods – started Season 1 from Netflix – snack -5

 

needed some chips & salsa in my life – 4

 

dinner – turkey meatloaf patty with Green Giant Steamables veggies that my hubby LOVES and apples – 7

 

Family Home Evening treat – got these ‘Fun-iddles’ with a coupon when I went grocery shopping to try out. Not too bad. -4

 

TUESDAY 11/8

pre-workout – pb toast – 3

**Workout:  30 mins elliptical, 15 mins bike, 3 mins rowing (crappy machines!) and then 38 burps to catch me up to date with Courtney’s Burpee Challenge!!!

post workout – green protein smoothie – 2

brunch – egg, sausage, peppers, onions, cilantro, and cheese on corn tortillas – 8

snack – ZonePerfect bar – 5

another snack later while cooking dinner – 2

 

dinner – easy beef and veggie soup (will post recipe soon!) with a wheat roll – 8

 

WEDNESDAY 11/9

breakfast – oatmeal with apples – 4

snack – Nature Valley crunchy Oats & Dark Chocolate granola bar – 5

leftover beef veggie soup with avocado & cheese on top – 8

M&M’s – 4

dinner – baked tilapia and 1/2 cup of pasta & veggies – 5

another fun size M&M’s down the hatch – 2 (can you guess what week it is?! 😉 )

36 year old military wife of 18 years and stay at home mom to 4 incredible kids (3 girls ages 17, 11, 11 and our son is 6). After my 4th, and final baby, I decided I wanted to be more active, healthier, happier, and to be an example to my kids. I joined Weight Watchers and started using the Points Plus program to learn portion control, moderation, and develop healthier habits. I also used the dietSNAPS app to track my meals and it was such a life changer for me to literally *see* what I was putting in my body! Cyndi, Lexy and I created this blog to be accountability partners and that has been a huge key to this journey! I love to cook and I love converting my favorite recipes into a healthier version for my family to enjoy! I love the after effects of exercising :) I love challenging myself to fitness goals to change things up and in doing so I have run numerous 5K/10K's, several half marathons, one full 26.2 marathon, and a Tough Mudder. I love circuit training, weight training, and running sprints. My goal is to inspire others to take their health seriously, and to show how small changes can lead to big results.
