Friday Daily Bites

breakfast: oatmeal with banana- 5pts+

My mom has been a Correctional Officer for almost 10 years at a Texas Prison unit near my hometown. She recently got a new position as Sergeant and has been attending a 2 week academy. We drove up to Huntsville today to attend her graduation.

{I love it when a stranger takes your pic and they don’t pay attention that its blurry. I mean–serrussly?!}

outside the Texas Prison Museum

we ate lunch at a local mexican resturant that was not all that great……my fav mexican place at home has me spoilt!! 😉

had chips & salsa- 4pts+

their fajita salads on the menu were loaded with cheese and beans so I opted for some chicken soft tortillas with no beans or rice. ate 2 of these for about 9pts+

these were really good but nothing fresh with color came with it…….

so I had the waiter bring me a side of pico de gallo to add some freshness to it.

stopped by a couple of my fav ‘bling’ stores on the way home that we don’t have on our side of town.

after shopping we drove through McD’s to and I got a small plain sundae for the trip home. 4pts+

I thew on Cafe Rio chicken in the crockpot before I left early this morning so it was nice to have dinner ready. 4 pts+

I had a serving for dinner with a wedge of the Chipotle flavored laughing cow cheese on top before heading over to the Ladies Quilting night. Was also fighting a headache and was helping the protein would help.  I also knew there would be treats there and wanted to make sure I didn’t go hungry.

my first time ever tying a quilt

snack on grapes, peppers with hummus, a few small chips with some layer dip and one of each cookie- 12pts+

ginger spice cookie—SUPER yummy!!!

cream puff

yummy CHOCOLATE one.

I was proud of myself for not going back for more than one cookie. I wanted to eat more of that stuff just cause it was THERE. I was completely full and content.

Babystep victories. 😉

About Carman

36 year old military wife of 18 years and stay at home mom to 4 incredible kids (3 girls ages 17, 11, 11 and our son is 6). After my 4th, and final baby, I decided I wanted to be more active, healthier, happier, and to be an example to my kids. I joined Weight Watchers and started using the Points Plus program to learn portion control, moderation, and develop healthier habits. I also used the dietSNAPS app to track my meals and it was such a life changer for me to literally *see* what I was putting in my body! Cyndi, Lexy and I created this blog to be accountability partners and that has been a huge key to this journey! I love to cook and I love converting my favorite recipes into a healthier version for my family to enjoy! I love the after effects of exercising :) I love challenging myself to fitness goals to change things up and in doing so I have run numerous 5K/10K's, several half marathons, one full 26.2 marathon, and a Tough Mudder. I love circuit training, weight training, and running sprints. My goal is to inspire others to take their health seriously, and to show how small changes can lead to big results.
