Claretta – Week 1

I have a love-hate relationship with starting a diet.  Beginning has always been so hard for me.  The day before dread of knowing that when I wake up, my carefree eating style will change and I’ll have to give up thousands of calories.  I hate that!  But what I love about week one is that satisfaction of looking down at the scale and seeing a big loss!!  If it’s done right, the first week can be a real inspiration – get ready folks – I LOST 10 POUNDS last week, my first week!!!!!  I don’t care if it was all fluid, I can see the veins in my feet again and my wedding ring is starting to feel loose!  To everyone else, I look exactly the same on the outside.  But, in my mind I can see a big difference already.  I don’t expect to have this kind of result from now on, I’d rather lose a solid 2 pounds of fat every week.  That’s my goal.  So if I can do that every week, by my birthday in September, I will have lost about 20 pounds more!  Yea!  I’ll take that.

About Lexy

40 years old, "stay at home mom" to 2 boys (ages 16 and 14), wife to a chiropractic kinesiologist! I love blogging and learning new ideas. I follow the Weight Watchers Points Plus program and enjoy working out. I have run 2 full 26.2 mile marathons and 3 half marathons... and many 10k and 5k's. I love taking BodyPump classes and lifting weights. Working out has always been fun for me, but I struggle with eating healthy. Blogging has introduced me to a world of healthy eaters... When I first started WW... I just wanted someone to tell me what to eat! I didn't like cooking and I am not the kind of person that can just throw things together. There are tons of ideas out there and I love finding new and fun ones that I feel like I am capable of making myself!

WTG Claretta!! So happy for you! Getting started is always tough but when you do and see results, it is great. Can't wait to hear more about your journey and its just that – a journey. Not a diet – a lifestyle change!! Can't wait to hear more about your successes!Love ya – Josie

I kept my food journal, which is necessary. The things I didn't eat were: sodas, anything fried, beef, bread or pasta and nothing processed. This left, fresh spinach, different squashes, parsnips, carrots, chicken/turkey, eggs (and egg beaters). Gotta have protein and fresh veggies, fresh fruit, but need to pay attention to how it turns to sugar in my system. And I discovered that I didn't drink near enough water, and will do better with that from now on! Hope that helps.

I read this yesterday and meant to comment…Carmen, I like how you said it's not a diet! I also enjoyed reading your blog and how you started. I like how you said you crave fruits and veggies now instead of chips and dip and cookies. I'm hoping that I will get to that point eventually too. And I feel much the same that Claretta does that I have a love hate relationship with food! I am enjoying reading all y'alls posts and I am inspired to be better. Thank you for sharing everyday!
