Claretta – Week 21- Mysterious Back Pain

It all started on Thanksgiving Day.  I was standing in the kitchen cooking (what else??) and I noticed I couldn’t breathe.  Well, I was breathing, but I was having difficulty because the upper right side of my back was hurting really bad.  Not a muscle type ache, but a burning, searing pain.  Thankfully, one of my Chiropractor sons did their magic and I began feeling a little better.  When I was sitting in the living room visiting or playing with the grandchildren, my back didn’t hurt, but as soon as I walked into the kitchen, the burning sensation returned.  I then decided that even tho I didn’t feel tense, I was definitely tense!  I wanted my families Thanksgiving dinner to be magazine perfect.  For me, tense equals back burning.  Same thing happened again this past Monday.  I was expecting tons of company in honor of my niece’s visit from Michigan.  Getting the cookies made and the house presentable in anticipation of everyone arriving caused me more stress than I was aware of.  As soon as everyone arrived, my back quit hurting.  Amazing!  Tension and stress can cause some amazing problems, so for my next project, I’m going to learn some anti-stress techniques.  Also, I’m committing to going for a massage.  I’ve never had a real massage.  I think at my age I’m entitled, so if anyone wants to know what to get me for Christmas, there’s your giant hint! (and a Chi flat iron)I spent the entire weekend walking around Canton, Texas for their “First Monday” market days.  It was a girls-weekend and we had a blast.  All we did was shop, eat and laugh – well, we slept a little too.  I didn’t eat to terribly bad  but was a little nervous to get on the scale.  I’m excited to report that I actually lost a pound!!!!  I’m inches away from a milestone weight loss.  I’m right at -35 pounds now!!!  I think I’m done with entertaining in my home, at least for now, so bring on Christmas!!
