Claretta – Week 8

-2.8 pounds     (total 18.2!!!!!!)Happy Labor Day!!!  This morning I thought, holy cow! I don’t feel any different today, I feel like a cow!  I went to my aqua class, came home and just after my shower, hopped on the scale.  With wet hair and all I had a good weekly loss!!  I’m so excited to be going down instead of going up.  I’m really learning how to eat better out in the world.  Yesterday, after church, we had a pot-luck dinner and after surveying the entire table, including what I brought, there wasn’t anything healthy for me to eat, besides my friend’s beans and rice.  So I ate a small bowl of that and a sausage link, one chocolate chip cookie and sampled a very small piece of spicy chocolate cake.  (By the way, that cake was very interesting and good – can’t say so much about the cookie tho, which is very unusual)  Anyway, yay! for me.

I’m very sure that also me getting into the habit of going to the gym every day is a definite plus.  On alternating days, I do the aqua class and walk on the treadmill.  I upped my time on the treadmill to 30 minutes this week, a slight incline and a bit faster pace.  I still didn’t hit the 2 mile mark , but was feeling good, breaking a sweat and keeping my heart rate at the right place.  I l-o-v-e the aqua class.  I’m not sure that it’s really helping me lose inches but I know it’s working my cardio system and flexibility.  When nobody is looking, I practice my ballet moves! I feel tall and light on my feet!

In honor of this holiday, I bought a couple of steaks and will splurge with my sweet hubby!  We will give chicken and turkey a break today.  Also, it appears God’s giving us a break in the ridiculously hot temperatures, so I might spend some quality time sitting in my backyard swing – justa swinging! -Claretta
