On avg American adults watch 5 hours of tv a day!!! (or it could be the computer, smartphone for some people)
-How much time we are spending sitting down and not moving??
We talked about easy ways to get activity in our lives:
Cooler weather- get outside
Ride bikes with kids to school
Instead of car rider line – park and walk
Take a class at the gym
Go on walks with a friend or your spouse
Activity that is 5, 10, or even 15 mins counts!!! Don’t think cause you can’t get 30 minutes in that it’s not worth doing. Do something!
It’s show time! How can u make screen time more active?
Did you know that 30 minute shows are really only 17 mins of programming- 13 mins are commercials that u could be used doing some sort of exercise.
*Can dance to music of commercials
*Stand up while doing computer work
*Pick 4 cardio exercises (jumping jacks, high knees, running in place, butt kicks, burpees;), kickboxing punches, etc) and do them each for 30 secs
*Balance ball exercises- squats, lunges, torso twists, crunches, overhead raises
*Sit on balance ball while watching tv or at computer- will help with posture and strengthen your core muscles
Makes you feel better overall
Member tip: Try to workout outside when you can- the sunshine and fresh air is better for you and makes you feel even better than working out indoors

Biggest loser DVDs
Walk with a friend
Walk the mall instead of shop
Park further out at the store parking lots
