I Had A Goal!

When I started promoting the 90-Day Challenge, I had a goal! I have been searching for a way to earn an income to help support my family while at the same time doing something that I truly LOVE! I have always loved blogging… and I began reading healthy living blogs back in 2006 so I could learn what it would take to lose weight and get in shape. Over the years, I followed Weight Watchers off and on, began walking which eventually turned into running, trained for and ran two full 26.2 mile marathons, several half marathons, began weight lifting and meeting new friends while working out. In 2011, I joined forces with my sisters in law (Carman and Cyndi) to create a blog to keep us accountable to each other. In the beginning it was a private blog “Graze Craze” and is now obviously a public blog “Fire Lites Fire”.

I love success stories, I love finding new and easy healthy recipes and snacks, I love running, I love a challenge, I love meeting new people and encouraging others to be better and do better! I became friends with the creators of the iPhone app dietSNAPS (Tracey and Laurie) and started blogging for them. Laurie hooked me up with Health Magazine and my weight loss story will be featured in the fall in their magazine. Check it out HERE. I have spent a lot of time in the last year learning about blogging and social media. It has been so fun! I was talking to a good friend of mine Cynthia (Social Cowgirl) about my blog and she was giving me some very valuable tips. She also introduced me to Visalus and the 90-Day Challenge.

It didn’t take me long to realize that this was EVERYTHING I have been looking for. The whole concept of the Challenge compliments every area of my life. I am using my knowledge that I learned from Weight Watchers on what to eat, documenting my meals with the dietSNAPS app, incorporating great tasting ViSalus shakes into my normal routine, training with friends for the upcoming Tough Mudder, working out with a personal trainer, and learning how to make an income doing what I love. I joined ViSalus officially on June 2nd and I have been having so much fun! I just found out last Sunday night that I was promoted to Regional Director and qualified for a bonus to drive a BMW!!!

I have a very thankful heart. I needed this now… I feel like years of hard work, focusing, searching, and having a desire to make a change is finally paying off. I made a little video clip HERE. If you know anyone that might be interested in more information about the Challenge, please let me know.

Highlights from the week…

Monday: Early morning… taking kids to church camp… EFY…

Fire Bites: Eating on the road…. Vi-Shake, Protein Bar, ChickfilA Salad, Vi-Shake, Subway, and samples at the Challenge Party!

So much fun hanging out with everyone!

Tuesday: I don’t even remember this day. I know I ate more than this…. just not sure what??? Must not have been very good because there weren’t any other pics on my dietSNAPS app!  :/

Wednesday: Low key day with family… got to snuggle with my newest niece Lily… my nickname for her… “Lily Mai-naj”…  My Dad also passed along some vintage cassette tapes on motivation and success principles. We dug up an old Walk-man and enjoyed listening to the words of wisdom! Thanks Dad!

Fire Bites: Vi-Shake, Eggs with roasted veggies, Burger (with rice cakes as the bun… thx Mom!), and cookies…. cookies…. cookies!

Thursday:  After having a few days off from working out, I was anxious to meet the group at the track for some Tough Mudder training!! We made this little video clip for our friend Dave Frey that is participating in the Tough Mudder in San Diego today!

Kody, my mom and I spent the day with Ingrid. She helped Kody make a blanket for a baby in Kenya. Ingrid will be going in a few weeks to help build a school and she set a goal to make 30 blankets for the babies in need. I am so thankful to her for spending time teaching Kody. He loved every minute of it and can’t wait for his blanket to be delivered!

Fire Bites: Vi-Shake, Protein Waffle W/Blueberries, Subway, Zone Bar, and Vi-Shake

Friday: Fishing with Kody… he wanted to go to his favorite spot, but look at this place!!!! I could barely see the dock and there was NO WAY this city girl was going crawling through that madness…. I found us a dock that was much more suitable! Hahaha! He had fun catching and releasing the fish!

Fire Bites: Protein Waffle W/Blueberries, Vi-Shake, Turkey Chili, Zone Bar, Grapes, Vi-Shake, Oatmeal, and Ice Cream Cone from McD’s!

Also… worked out with my trainer Lisa! Check out her website HERE! She is awesome! She is offering a free 30 minute personal training session with anyone who signs up with me for the 90-Day Challenge!!

I hope you are doing great! I have been much busier than usual and I look forward to finding my groove with the blog again! I miss checking in everyday… it helps my sanity!!! :)

Ty has been away at camp all week….. he will be home soon and I’m hoping to get out of the house and have some fun!

About Lexy

40 years old, "stay at home mom" to 2 boys (ages 16 and 14), wife to a chiropractic kinesiologist! I love blogging and learning new ideas. I follow the Weight Watchers Points Plus program and enjoy working out. I have run 2 full 26.2 mile marathons and 3 half marathons... and many 10k and 5k's. I love taking BodyPump classes and lifting weights. Working out has always been fun for me, but I struggle with eating healthy. Blogging has introduced me to a world of healthy eaters... When I first started WW... I just wanted someone to tell me what to eat! I didn't like cooking and I am not the kind of person that can just throw things together. There are tons of ideas out there and I love finding new and fun ones that I feel like I am capable of making myself!
