I {love} road trips!!

woke up this morning to this cuteness!!! ๐Ÿ˜‰

today was our Day 50 Timed burpees……I didn’t do them as fast as I thought I would – but I maintained a steady pace and focused on good form so that’s what matters I guess. ๐Ÿ˜‰ If you did your burpees….don’t forget to post your time in the comments HERE.

got a pic with my sis-in-law Meagan

the kiddos with Grandma & Papaw Hinson

the whole family :)

we got on the road about 11am and I had been so busy running around all morning doing burpees, showering & getting ready, visiting, and gathering all our stuff up that I hadn’t gotten to eat breakfast yet – so I was STARVING!!

I dug out one of my zone bars to get me through till we stopped for lunch – 5

a little later we stopped for lunch and a potty break at Sonic – we’re all excited to be on a road trip together and get this party started! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I had a jr burger deluxe and Court and I shared some tater tots and these fried pickles that they called ‘Pickle O’s’ – 15

A little while after that meal – I reclined my seat back for a good ole’ fat nap – with my blanket, pillows, eye mask and ALL. ๐Ÿ˜‰ ย One of the many reasons why I {HEART} Road Trips!!! ๐Ÿ˜‰

snack – stopped for gas and got the kids an ice cream treat – I got this one for Dev and realized it AFTER I had got it in the car that this one cookie sandwich was 490 calories!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it had 23g of fat and 63g carbs!!!!!! ย Geez Aweezz!!!! ย I had two bites out of it…….

then decided on pulling out my trusty ole’ bars so I knew I wouldn’t be mad at myself for eating that ‘junk’. – 5

I really like this flavor as a treat!!

I love road trips for the scenery!! We passed through MILES and MILES of these thing-y’s…..have no idea what they are called but they are cool and yet creepy to me at the same time!!!! hahaha

pretty cool!

was really wanting some chips (something munchie and crunchy – what’s a road trip without munchie foods?! ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) but didn’t have any in the car – then I remembered I had these from my fridge and was so glad I brought them. I finished off the last few.

I’m really trying to remember the saying in WW’s the other day – If you don’t have it, you can’t eat it. ๐Ÿ˜‰

it was getting to be about supper time and so we snacked on a few of these till we found a place to stop.

about 2 1/2 hours from Amarillo we decided on McDonalds for dinner (due to lack of any other choice) and then we decided last minute to go in to eat it and so the kids could play off some of their pent up energy for the day.

I had the southwest salad – didn’t even open the dressing. Really wasn’t feeling it but I ate the chicken and top part of the salad. Also had 2 of the kids chicken nuggets and ย a few of their fries. It was not good at all and I felt pretty gross leaving there.

these two wanted hot chocolate before we left McD’s……it was 27 degrees outside- perfect hot cocoa weather!! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I love road trips cause of the time it gives me to be one on one with my family and their ย little quirky personalities and hearing the hilarious things my kids say!

cool sunset

I think it is hilarious that you can literally drive ALLLLLL day and still not be out of the state of Texas!!!!!

the kids all riding Cadillac style!!! ๐Ÿ˜‰

After 10 hours in the car we arrived in Amarillo and there was snow on the ground!!!!!!! ย  Thankfully we never ran into any snow or ice on the highway until we exited off in Amarillo to get to our hotel- and they only got about and 1 1/2″ of snow instead of the predicted 6-9″!!!!!

of course my kids had to run right over to a pile of it to check it out! ๐Ÿ˜‰

was hungry again – since dinner was so gross and I didn’t eat much of it – zone bar snack – 5

I realized while eating this that I ate 3 of these bars today!!!! ย man I need some sleep and get to the store for more healthy snacks!

Now our only problem with leaving in the morning to get to Estes Park is that our route we were gonna take is closed due to snow and ice from the winter storm they had yesterday. Now we are looking for another alternate route that is best and safe. Say a prayer with us that the roads clear up in the morning so we can get to our resort the route we had planned!!!

Night all!

After my 4th, and final baby, I decided I wanted to be more active, healthier, happier, and to be an example to my kids. I joined Weight Watchers and started using the Points Plus program to learn portion control, moderation, and develop healthier habits. I also used the dietSNAPS app to track my meals and it was such a life changer for me to literally *see* what I was putting in my body! Cyndi, Lexy and I created this blog to be accountability partners and that has been a huge key to this journey! I love to cook and I love converting my favorite recipes into a healthier version for my family to enjoy! I love the after effects of exercising :) I love challenging myself to fitness goals to change things up and in doing so I have run numerous 5K/10K's, several half marathons, one full 26.2 marathon, and a Tough Mudder. I love circuit training, weight training, and running sprints. My goal is to inspire others to take their health seriously, and to show how small changes can lead to big results.
