Keeping It “Real”

Wednesday night, I participated in an online chat over on Blog To Lose. We were discussing the impact that bloggers can have on one’s mood. We all agreed that we like it best when people are REAL! Things aren’t always perfect… and showing that “not so perfect” side to things makes us feel more connected. I know that when I read a motivational uplifting blog… I get excited to do better! I want to make healthier choices and I face the day with confidence. Then, there are times when I read that someone has fallen off the wagon, or they are in a funk… and sometimes I let that get to me, making poor choices myself.

I have to say that I hope that you know we keep it “real” on here and lately I’ve been struggling. I have had a lot of extra obligations and things going on since my last minute trip to Orlando. It has been one thing after another since I’ve been back and I haven’t made the BEST choices. I really tried to be aware of what was going on and not get too crazy… but I did have too many snacky moments. The last two or three days, I’ve been back in my normal routine and trying to get back on track again. It really is a never ending cycle.


Protein waffle – 5

*1 hour on the elliptical*

Egg beaters and turkey sausage – 4

Brought back and old favorite snack – cereal – 3

Vanilla frozen yogurt with bananas and cinnamon – 3

Turkey chili with spaghetti squash and spinach – 5

Bowl of roasted veggies – 0

Several times during the day I was grabbing bites of my son’s home made bread… probably to the equivalent of 2 pieces.


1 tsp peanut butter – pre run

*ran 5 miles*

Fiber one brownie – 2

Protein waffle with bananas – 5

Morning nutritional supplements – Standard Process

Spaghetti squash, roasted veggies, spinach and chili – 5

Vanilla frozen yogurt – 3

Whey protein fruit smoothie with cinnamon flavored flaxseed oil – 4

Cereal – 3

Chickfila chargrilled and fruit salad with fat free honey mustard – 7

I’ve also spent the last two days getting caught up on laundry, housework, paperwork, blah blah blah! I feel like I’m starting to come out of my funk! Crossing my fingers!! :)
