Kody Time :)

I slept in this morning… didn’t even set the alarm… woke up around 8am. Felt good to sleep in and not worry about it. Started out my morning with a protein waffle covered in strawberries and sugar free syrup – 5 pts

Did some dishes and talked to Kody about what he was in the mood for today. With Ty being gone, we had the whole day to spend some one on one time together. Had a protein bar  – 6pts

Pizza Quesadilla with turkey pepperoni, spinach, and red peppers before heading out for the day – 4 pts

Now that the boys are old enough to start working out, we are considering switching gyms. Kody and I stopped by the local Y and toured the building. He loves it and is really excited to turn 12 soon so he can use the work out facilities. I still haven’t fully committed because I want to check out other gyms in the area. Anyone have good experience with the YMCA? I alway had a membership at the Y when I was in high school and I loved working out there…

I mentioned last week that the boys got new shoes… Well, today was Kody’s turn to get some new clothes. We picked up a few shirts/shorts for summer! It’s already in the 80’s and I’m sure he will start wearing shorts to school again soon. Lucky for me Old Navy is now selling Clif Bars at the register. It had been about 3.5 hours since I had lunch, so it was perfect timing! – 7pts

Kody really wanted to wash my car today after my off roading experience yesterday! We decided it would be fun to drive through the car wash at the gas station… :)

Ahhh…. nice and clean again!!

When I got home, I had a whey protein fruit smoothie (no flaxseed oil) for – 2 pts before heading up to the gym. I did 1 hour on the elliptical followed by 30 minutes of level 12 inclines on the treadmill. +11 Since I signed up for the Blue Bell 10K I am hoping to add more inclines to my work outs. It’s hilly in Brenham… and I am living in the land of NO HILLS Houston.

After I got home, I had some turkey chili with spaghetti squash, spinach, and pico – 4 pts

I have to tell y’all the sweetest thing Kody did for me a few days ago. He overheard me talking to someone about The Hunger Games. I have never read the books and I was telling someone that I usually like to read the book before I see the movie. So… he checked it out at his school library as a surprise for me to read. Isn’t that the cutest thing?? So we started reading it together tonight! We finished Chapter 1 and then he was falling asleep so I had to stop. I’m looking forward to seeing what all the hype is about?!!!

About Lexy

40 years old, "stay at home mom" to 2 boys (ages 16 and 14), wife to a chiropractic kinesiologist! I love blogging and learning new ideas. I follow the Weight Watchers Points Plus program and enjoy working out. I have run 2 full 26.2 mile marathons and 3 half marathons... and many 10k and 5k's. I love taking BodyPump classes and lifting weights. Working out has always been fun for me, but I struggle with eating healthy. Blogging has introduced me to a world of healthy eaters... When I first started WW... I just wanted someone to tell me what to eat! I didn't like cooking and I am not the kind of person that can just throw things together. There are tons of ideas out there and I love finding new and fun ones that I feel like I am capable of making myself!

We’ve liked the YMCA, even though I think it’s way too expensive. I worked there for quite awhile which justified it for me. Funny story- Brandon had amazon send me The Hunger Games on Monday. He read it awhile ago and wanted me to see the movie with him- but said I had to read the book first. So guess what I did on Tuesday? 😉 We’ll have to compare thoughts when you’re done!
