Lite Your Fire – Join us in a 90 Day Challenge!!!!!

We just recently found out about a 90 Day Challenge – and we, the FLF girls are excited to jump in!!! Who doesn’t LOVE a CHALLENGE?!  We sure do – especially when it is related to health and fitness. We are excited for this opportunity because we all still have our own specific goals that we want to accomplish. We know as well as anyone that if you don’t keep setting goals for yourself then it is MUCH easier to fall off track. We love that this challenge is for everyone; young, old, middle-aged, young at heart, sedentary, elite athlete, runner, walker, crawler (haha! :) ), weight lifter, couch potato, just starting to get healthy, or have been a health nut all your life……the list goes on and on!!!

We plan on starting our 90 day challenge on Monday, June 18th. We would LOVE for as many of you to join us and start with us – or you can start it at anytime you are ready!!! The most important thing – is that you START!! :)


The best part about this Challenge is that it fits perfectly into the lifestyle and habits we have already created. We will still be using WeightWatchers to keep our food in check and using our dietSNAPS app to track our food. This Challenge just gives us a new focus and movitation!  And of course, accountability by doing it together!!!

We each have our own unique GOALS. We know that its only a wish and not a goal unless its written down so we are writing down our goals here to share with you!!!  


Carman –

I have been able to maintain my WW goal weight of 140lbs for a YEAR now!!!! (That is living proof that WW’s and dietSNAPS REALLY does work when applied DAILY!!!) :)  I am so excited for this 90 Day Challenge – I want to become my best lean & fit self.  :) I have enjoyed the clothing size I am now and have been super happy with the success I have had, especially with having been able to maintain for so long.  My 90 day goal is a new focus to see how lean I can naturally get. I had my body fat composition test done about a month ago and I am using that as a new focus instead of scale weight. The scale can get so frustrating and I don’t like that it doesn’t tell me how much lean muscle I have – and as I lose these last few pounds if I’m loosing muscle or fat.  My body fat right now is 23% – which is in the ‘Fitness’ range. (see chart below)  My goal is to be in the Athlete range around 18% in 90 days. I know that in doing this I will become stronger as well! I am doing the Tough Mudder in October with an awesome team and I want to be in the best shape of my life for that! I know this 90 day challenge will get me there!!!  Let’s do THIS!!!!!

Lexy –

For the longest time, my goal has been to weigh 125 lbs. (I have been maintaining my Weight Watchers goal at 137 lbs for a year) At a recent health expo I had the chance to meet and visit with several fitness models. They recommended I drop the idea of my weight and focus more on body fat percentage. After thinking about this I have decided to take their advice. I met with a trainer today and set some new goals. Currently, my body fat is 25%. For my 90-Day Challenge… My goal is to have between 19 & 20% body fat. That being said… I’m not sure how that will affect the scale reading. I have never used body fat as a measurement. This is going to be very difficult for me because I’m used to weighing myself on the scale on a regular basis. I am signed up to compete in the Tough Mudder of Austin in October… I am looking forward to being up for the challenge!

Ultimately, this is my dream body type!



Cyndi –

For my 90-day challenge I’m going to continue and complete the p90X2 fitness program as well as continue to count my points on the Weight Watchers program to reach my goal weight of 150lbs.  I’m currently at 168.9.  I’m excited to be able to focus on these 2 goals for the next 90 days.  This challenge is perfect timing for me because after completing my goals, not only will I be looking hot for my husband after a 4 month separation, but maybe for the first time in my life, I will feel confident in a bathing suit on the beaches of Maui in October!

36 year old military wife of 18 years and stay at home mom to 4 incredible kids (3 girls ages 17, 11, 11 and our son is 6). After my 4th, and final baby, I decided I wanted to be more active, healthier, happier, and to be an example to my kids. I joined Weight Watchers and started using the Points Plus program to learn portion control, moderation, and develop healthier habits. I also used the dietSNAPS app to track my meals and it was such a life changer for me to literally *see* what I was putting in my body! Cyndi, Lexy and I created this blog to be accountability partners and that has been a huge key to this journey! I love to cook and I love converting my favorite recipes into a healthier version for my family to enjoy! I love the after effects of exercising :) I love challenging myself to fitness goals to change things up and in doing so I have run numerous 5K/10K's, several half marathons, one full 26.2 marathon, and a Tough Mudder. I love circuit training, weight training, and running sprints. My goal is to inspire others to take their health seriously, and to show how small changes can lead to big results.
