More Snowshoeing Adventure Fun!

We got the chance to go snowshoeing again – this time with Torry & Lexy. We did the same trail we did on Saturday cause we knew the inclines and the difficulty level. The wind was blowing A LOT today starting about halfway  to all the way up which made it MUCH MUCH colder!!!!!!

Some pics from our trip:

doing a ‘Taylor’ pose 😉

Texas Forever!!!! 😉

Courtney and I saw this guy on Saturday on the trail when we were snowshoeing Saturday. We found out he lived in Houston many years ago when he was in the oil business and was very knowledgeable about the area and the trail. We thought it was so cool when we saw him AGAIN today while in the parking lot getting ready to go up!!! We caught him on his way back down and HAD to get our picture taken with him!  I plan on still being able to hike mountains when I’m his age! 😉

Courtney and Torry at the top on our break for lunch – Torry showing his Texans Pride at 10,100ft in CO! 😉

After we finished our lunch and we headed back down – there was a pretty steep slope down we had to really dig your toes in to not slide down in the snow shoes. Courtney made his way down and then I proceeded down with Lexy behind me and then Torry behind her. I went to the left of the trail and Torry started down to the right passing us up….but once he got started down his feet started going faster than what he could stop – so he ended up ‘running’ down the slope all while ‘running’ as wide as his feet would go with trekking poles swinging and flailing in the air yelling ‘Somebody stop me!!!!!!!!!!”  He was running straight for Courtney and he just moved outta the way and said ‘Ole’!!!!!!!  hahaha!

Thankfully Torry did not fall or break anything…..but ended up hugging this tree at the bottom of the hill and had us all rolling when we realized he was not joking running down that slope…..he literally COULD NOT stop once he got started!!!!!  Which made it all the more hilarious!!!!!

I dubbed him with a new nickname of ‘Avalanche’!!!!!!   Fun times!!!!

Court and I trekking back – thankfully with the wind on our way back!

About Carman

36 year old military wife of 18 years and stay at home mom to 4 incredible kids (3 girls ages 17, 11, 11 and our son is 6). After my 4th, and final baby, I decided I wanted to be more active, healthier, happier, and to be an example to my kids. I joined Weight Watchers and started using the Points Plus program to learn portion control, moderation, and develop healthier habits. I also used the dietSNAPS app to track my meals and it was such a life changer for me to literally *see* what I was putting in my body! Cyndi, Lexy and I created this blog to be accountability partners and that has been a huge key to this journey! I love to cook and I love converting my favorite recipes into a healthier version for my family to enjoy! I love the after effects of exercising :) I love challenging myself to fitness goals to change things up and in doing so I have run numerous 5K/10K's, several half marathons, one full 26.2 marathon, and a Tough Mudder. I love circuit training, weight training, and running sprints. My goal is to inspire others to take their health seriously, and to show how small changes can lead to big results.
