Progress, not Perfection!

I have really been making it a point this week to get all my thoughts, ideas, lists, and things to do that are piled up in my head down on paper this week like I talked about in this post the other day. It really seems to be helping! Today I woke up and decided to get things done on my list and clean my house the FlyLady way by setting my timer for 15 minutes.  I went room to room with my earbuds in, jamming to my tunes, so I could not be distracted by other things or my thoughts. It helped a lot! I was able to clean my whole house (minus the kids rooms – that is a spring cleaning task for tomorrow!)  when usually I can only get the downstairs done before kids get home because I have piddled too much or been ADD in cleaning house. I am learning I am having to really let go of the perfectionist in me and a semi clean house is better than a dirty house. 😉

The same goes for weight loss and eating right – I have learned that eating good 80% of the time is better than eating crap all the time!!  Making one new healthy choice each meal or each day even will lead to big rewards and payoff later!  So just remember that – if you mess up or have a crappy meal, day, workout……just focus on making the next one good! 😉

About Carman

36 year old military wife of 18 years and stay at home mom to 4 incredible kids (3 girls ages 17, 11, 11 and our son is 6). After my 4th, and final baby, I decided I wanted to be more active, healthier, happier, and to be an example to my kids. I joined Weight Watchers and started using the Points Plus program to learn portion control, moderation, and develop healthier habits. I also used the dietSNAPS app to track my meals and it was such a life changer for me to literally *see* what I was putting in my body! Cyndi, Lexy and I created this blog to be accountability partners and that has been a huge key to this journey! I love to cook and I love converting my favorite recipes into a healthier version for my family to enjoy! I love the after effects of exercising :) I love challenging myself to fitness goals to change things up and in doing so I have run numerous 5K/10K's, several half marathons, one full 26.2 marathon, and a Tough Mudder. I love circuit training, weight training, and running sprints. My goal is to inspire others to take their health seriously, and to show how small changes can lead to big results.
