You Can Do Anything....

Focused on Priorities

In case any of you have been wondering…..yes I am alive and well!! :)  Since this month started it has been all  cRaZiNess at my house and in my brain!!!  I’m not sure if anyone has even missed me or even really cares…..but I have missed blogging and sharing thoughts and ideas!! :)

When looking at my calendar for the month of May at the beginning of the month, I realized how crazy busy my life was about to get and I had to make a choice.  I had to realize and accept what my priorities are – especially in times like these when my calendar and our life gets this insane busy.

Putting things that I love doing on the back burner like blogging, baking, reading books and blogs, Pinterest :), watching my favorite shows, even checking/replying to emails at times, etc…… or that they don’t make it “above the line” as Dave Ramsey would say…….is very hard for me to accept sometimes. Its the FUN stuff I’d rather be DOING!!!!  This month I knew I was going to have to accept reality of my responsibilites or I was gonna become a crazy mama!!! (or crazier!) :)

This quote is the perfect mantra I would have to tell myself each day……..

And I had to remind myself each day to be OK with that.

It helped.

Despite the extra stress and demands – these are the things I made sure of each day:

  • Make sure my family was taken care of with daily nurturing from me: cooking, cleaning, healthy meals, etc
  • Get my workouts in:  we signed up for the Tough Mudder in October and began meeting up and training with our friends from church! I am looking forward to this new challenge and adventure!
  • Focus on eating more clean:  eating more veggies and increasing my protein while cutting out more processed foods has actually helped me focus on food as fuel instead of stress eating.
  • Sleep: I had to make a choice every night to go to bed at a decent hour or stay up and blog – I chose sleep. (that is HUGE bonus for this night owl! :) )
  • Learned to say No: I had to say No to several fun things so that I wouldn’t over schedule and overstress myself with trying to fit it all in.
  • Focus on one project at a time!! Then when that one was over then I focused on the next thing coming up.
After focusing on all that during each day, I didn’t have energy for much else. As these big events, projects, and end of the school year craziness fades away, then I will be able to add those other *FUN* things into my life again. I have been able to tell a huge difference in my stress and anxiety levels by not trying to do it all. Having this mentality really helped me to be able to enjoy the fun as they were happening instead of being stressed and frazzled and ready for it to just be over with.  I am truly learning and figuring out the balance that I need in my life, especially during the really stressful times.

Here are a few of the highlights and lowlights of the past 2 crazy weeks!

I had some pretty big projects that needed all my energy and attention. For starters, I was in charge of a HUGE fundraiser for our church Girls Camp and it consumed the first week. It was a BBQ dinner, silent auction, and a live dessert auction and thankfully it went over awesomely well and was a good time!!!

Then, the next day I had an awesome cousins weekend where we did our 2nd annual cousins sleepover and did the Houston Lupus 5K walk for my cousin Bev. This year we had the’ little cousins’ walk it with us and they were little troopers! Walking by the bayou and downtown skyline was a really pretty view!

While trying to leave the parking lot in downtown (to head straight to Galveston to pick up my Mama who had just gotten off a 7 day cruise) I started having random car problems. Thankfully my sister was with me and our cousin Bev had taken all the girls with her to head home to my house. My other cousin, who thankfully hadn’t left yet, took me to a store to get a gas treatment per my brother-in-law’s advice. That finally worked and we were able to get on the road – only to break down again halfway home!!! Thankfully I was able to exit before my car shut off and then I literally coasted into a store parking lot before coming to a stop. My husband, who was working the weekend, was able to come pick us up so we could continue on to Galveston to get my poor mother. Thankfully she was so patient with us and is a social butterfly!! hahaha  We went back to the car later that evening to change the fuel filter and that still did not fix the car. :( Luckily, Lexy’s dad came to our rescue and helped us tow our car the rest of the way home.

The next day my dad came down to help Courtney fix the car by trying to replace the fuel pump. That was a 2 person-all-day-job in itself!!!

and…….the car is still not fixed!  Another part broke while they were trying to take off the fuel tank. :(   Thankfully my mom was able go home with my dad and leave her car here for me to drive until we can finish getting it fixed. ugh at car issues!!! Thankfully my dad being the handy man he was able to help Courtney with our refrigerator that has started moaning and groaning along with other odd and end jobs around the house that needed fixin’. Yay for checking off the Honey-Do list! :)

On top of all that my iPhone is having MORE issues!!  I was having issues being able to use my dietSNAPS app for a good week because of a glitch on my screen that won’t let me click on anything. I had to resort to taking pics of my food just using my phone camera!!!!!  :(  (I figured out a way around it so I can now use my app but the glitch is still not fixed!! :( )

Thursday of last week  I got invited to Gabe’s school for a quick Mother’s Day Breakfast. His teacher said “He just loves you so much cause he talks about you all the time!”  Talk about melt my heart!  My lil’ Green Lantern Hero! :)

All this last week I turned my attention and focus to the next big event on the calendar- hosting a big Hinson get together weekend for Cruz’s baby blessing! I spent all week spring cleaning my house from top to bottom using the FlyLady cleaning lists going room by room and got as much of it done as I could each day. It was long overdue and much needed…….and made me feel SO much better to finally get it all cleaned like I like it to be. I now feel like I can keep going with my favorite FlyLady routines and stay on top of it better. :)

We had such a FUN weekend!!!!  Lots of family here and lots of yummy food – of course!!! It was definitely a *celebration* weekend -which means for me that portion control was pretty much out the window! :)  By Sunday night I was feeling pretty sick and ready to be back on track Monday morning with a good workout and a good ole’ protein waffle! 😉

Saturday – We woke up to a nice lil ‘gully washer’!!!!  It was POURING down rain and storming so we had to change our track workout plans to the gym instead.  Courtney and Keller put us through a nice little hour long circuit workout. Then we stopped and grabbed donuts for us and the kids and then headed home to make protein waffles. :) We then showered and got ready for everyone to start arriving. There was lots of hanging out, baby holding, catching up, laughter, and little cousins running around playing!!  This is what life is all about. :)

All the adults out to dinner at Rudy’s BBQ and then we of course headed over to Menchie’s for dessert! :)

Sunday – Happy Mother’s Day!

I got up bright and early to get started on breakfast for everyone to come over and eat before heading to church. We made hash brown breakfast casseroles and the infamous Granny Hinson rolls. :)

It was just AWESOME to look around while at church at all our family (we occupied  2 1/2 long rows of pews!!!) who were all there to show love and support for this sweet baby blessing!!!

Happy Mother’s Day to US!!! :)   We were missing a sister and a sister-in-law;  we missed you Shea & Meredith!!

Grandma Terry with 14 of her 19 grandchildren :)

We all headed home for a yummy lunch that consisted of Cyndi’s crockpot tomatillo pork tacos, chips and salsa and green sauce, fruit salad, all topped off with Aunt Windy bringing Granny Hinson Red Velvet Cake and me making not one –  but TWO – Texas Sheet Cakes! :)

All but 2 of the siblings – we miss you Matt & Shea! :)

*For some unknown reason I did not even think about getting a picture with me and my kids or my little family on this special day (will have to make up for that next Sunday I guess)…..

so a zoomed/cropped version will have to do for now.  :/

I just have to say how grateful I am to be a Mama, and how especially blessed I am to be a mama to FOUR sweet and amazing kids!!!  They have made me the person I am today.

I am also thankful for my own sweet Mama and for the love, generosity, and sacrifice she continues to give me today!!

I hope you all had an awesome Mother’s Day!!!

Just a Quickie

As you can tell from Lexy and Carman’s posts we had a super fantastic weekend.  I’m exhausted just reading about it again ;).  My hubby leaves on Saturday to go back to Afghanistan for 4 months so this post is going to be short and sweet.  I will have plenty of time for blogging come Sunday! :(

I want to spend some time on our trip/weekend recap so I’m just posting fire bites from yesterday and today.  We spent most of the day yesterday in our jammies recovering from our trip and getting things done at home.  Cole went to school and had t-ball practice after.  Keller was laughing at me because I’m apparently one of the “loud” parents.

Wednesday Fire Bites: protein pancake and banana 5, turkey and avocado on wheat w/carrots 5, starburst jelly beans (dang you Sherilynn) 4-8, Trader Joe’s pretzels and a couple bites of a tuna sandwich 3, flank steak and veggies w/bread 8, bites of Keller’s Fat Boy ice cream sandwich??

Today we spent the morning at the park, it was gorgeous weather!  Came home and had lunch before heading to Salt Lake to do some errands.  These boys are going to miss their daddy!

Thursday Fire Bites: protein pancake and green smoothie 6, turkey and avocado sandwich w/carrots 5, Menchie’s froyo 4, Mom brought home Costco kettle chips low fat but high evil 4, chicken gyros 9, WW oatmeal cookies 6

I’m dying of lack of exercise.  I’m not looking forward to my husband leaving, but I am looking forward to getting back into a regular eating and workout schedule.  Gots to be hardcore to start training for the Tough Mudder!!

I’m BACK! It’s only been a little over a week since I posted last….but it sure seems like its been longer than that!  I’m pretty sure no one really missed me 😉  but I took a nice and much needed break from everything for Spring Break. 😉

Here are some highlights of each day. This is gonna be a doozie of a post!!!!  But I promise I didn’t post every food pic! :)

I spoke too soon about that gorgeous weather when I posted HERE! :( It was a teaser and didn’t last long at all. It started raining and was colder weather again for a couple days. Such a bummer cause of our Spring Break starting!!!!  The kids were happy that it was Spring Break nonetheless – especially the teenager!!!! 😉

Since it was STORMING outside when the kids got home – I decided to try the ‘broom’ experience I’d seen floating around Facebook……I’m not sure what the real story is about this but it WORKS and is cRaZy cool!!!!

I’d heard you could do it with a broom, egg and a quarter – so I tried all 3……

It was crazy awesome!!!!!

Friday Fire Bites:

My hubby requested donuts…..ugh – they will be the death of me cause I have no willpower!

Had an old fashioned maple glazed donut -{hint #1 as to where my week was headed! 😉 }

Lunch/Snack – Zone Perfect bar

had a bite of the kids Dominoes pizza before we left for our Date night so that I didn’t show up starving.

Our good friend (and my husbands boss) Jim invited us to eat at one of our favorite Sushi places called Michiru with another one of our friends (and my husbands co-worker)  Steve and his wife Erin. This is our 2nd time eating here for a date night together – except the 1st time was wayyyy too long ago.

Appetizers we shared – Martini Crispy Shrimp with Spicy Thai sweet and sour sauce…….

Salmon Puffs (SUPER YUMM!!) and also had edamame

Then we ordered several rolls and shared them all. They were ALL sooooo GOOD!!!

Spicy Girl and The Angus

Red Dragon and the Dancing Eel

Crazy Crab – one of my fav’s with that Thai dipping sauce again!

The Michiru – their presentation is soooo pretty and cool on all their dishes!

Jim, Erin and Steve

Courtney and I with Jim

My hubby and I followed it up with dessert at our new fav FroYo place Menchies

**It was raining so instead of running Lexy and I met up at the gym – I did 50 minutes on the elliptical

grabbed a Muscle Milk Light protein shake while in HEB stocking up on some groceries

Went home and literally cleaned house for 4 hours to get ready for my in-laws to come into town and stay with us for the night

had a late lunch of frito pie with Wolf Turkey Chili and Fritos

had a banana while resting for a few minutes before getting ready for our dinner out with the adults in the family

Dinner at our FAVORITE place – La Brisa!!

I had my usual Chicken Fajita Lettuce wraps with pico and guacamole and too many chips with salsa and green sauce :/

We decided that the night would not be complete w/out a little dessert – from Menchie’s of course! 😉

I LOVE their Chocolate Silk and the Dolce de Leche froyo!!!

the gang! 😉

SUNDAY – 3/11

I made Granny Hinson rolls for the family for breakfast – had one with strawberry freezer jam on it 😉

Zone bar on the way to church for snack

Ty’s special day 😉

Lexy prepared a feast of sandwich fixin’s!

I made enough salsa and green sauce to feed an Army!!! {I also ate that much too!!!!}

Had more cookies than I could count on 2 hands! aka – I lost count how many I ate. :/

Aunt Jackie got to come for the day! It was soo good to get to catch up with her.  It was such a nice afternoon just hanging out and visiting with all the family!

Later that evening the kids had a church Fireside and dinner to attend in preparation of leaving for their 3 day Pioneer Trek!

I got to help out for the night and had to dress the part as well! 😉

cute decorations!

Devyn and Ty found out there were in the same ‘family’!

Carb loading lasagna for the big Trek! 😉

Ty was all smiles and super excited for this adventure!

I was still so full from eating so much at Lexy’s – but when they came around with Texas Sheet Cake!!!!! – I couldn’t turn it down. :(  It was soooooo good!!! :)

MONDAY – 3/12

*Boot Camp- got there and to my surprise we had a substitute – his name was Art – the funniest thing is that he was wearing a shirt that said “Work of Art”!!! hahaha  He has a website called www.cardioassassin.com – that should give you some idea at what a crazy workout it was!!!

my hubby texted me and said ‘the kids need donuts since they are on Spring Break” – ugh – snacked on 2 maybe 3 donuts throughout the day

post workout – our FAV protein waffle with banana and agave

The kids had friends over all day as we cleaned house and decided to go ahead and head up to my parents while Devyn was gone on the Pioneer Trek. They were doing the Trek only about an hour and a half away from where my parents live in East Texas.

snack – carrots and ranch while packing up things in my fridge to take with us

the kids and hubby all got McDonalds but I had no desire to eat anything there. So he kindly pulled into Subway for me so I could get a turkey & ham sandwich on our way out of town.

I tried these new Parmesan Sun Chips {thanks to Cyndi always eating Parmesan chips with her awesome sandwiches its had me wanting to try some!!!} Well now Subway has some and they were really good!

oh – and I also had more than 1 Subway chocolate chip cookie on the 2 hour drive up to my parents. :/

TUESDAY – 3/13

Slept in a little and it was soooo nice!!!

*I got some new running kicks on our way out of town cause I am WAYYYY overdue for a new pair of new running shoes. My last pair I bought towards the end of 2008 while training for my Houston Half Marathon that I ran in January of 2009. It is 2012 people!!  I have always bought the Brooks Adrenaline GTS ‘s for the last 6+ years and just LOVE LOVE them!!! This time I’ve been researching and trying on the newest trend of minimus shoes on ALL the brands that are out and I FINALLY found a pair several weeks ago that I loved – AND the best part is that they are by BROOKS!!!  I was soooo happy to see them come out with this minimus style shoe cause its the only shoe that I tried on that fit perfect!!! These are the PureConnect style – they are SUPER light-weight and feel like a smooth glove on. I always get giddy and excited running in new shoes!!!! That’s motivation for ya!!!

***If you haven’t done so already, I would HIGHLY suggest going to your local running shoe store and have them fit you for the perfect shoe for you – no matter if you run OR just walk or both.  I didn’t think it was really a big deal but decided to bite the bullet and do it when I was training for my first Half Marathon in Seattle back in 2004 – all I can say is IT MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD!!!!!  😉 {That’s your HASU for the day!}

this is why I love running in the country! 😉

**6 miles (ran to the nearest little town and back to my parents)

*I narrowly escaped a dog attack from the neighbors dog diagonally across the highway from my parents on my way back!  Thankfully I was able to fend him off (barely) and thankfully I had a feeling to stop backing up away from him and then realized I was backing into the highway while a car was coming!! Thankfully the car that was coming down the road in that lane saw what was happening and had slowed way down as they passed by me- then they turned around about the time I was able to take my eyes off the dog for a second and look both ways to run across to the other side of the highway to get away from the dog!  They came back to my rescue and ran into the ditch at the dog about the time I had picked up something on the shoulder of the road ready to chunk it at the dog. Thankfully the dog stayed on his side of the highway and I was unharmed. The more I think about what all could have gone wrong during that incident that morning the more I am soooo grateful for being protected and watched over and for Good Samaratins!!!!  So word to the wise – ALWAYS be aware of your surroundings and be prepared and ALWAYS be aware of others who may be in need of help!!! This dog has run at me before but never like this. Next time I will be even more prepared and take more precautions.

good ole’ home cooked country breakfast!!! 😉  Fried eggs, bacon and some of my Daddy’s homemade pork sausage

cousin time!

Jayde with Gus (my parents Rat Terrier) and our Duke (they are brothers 😉 )

the kids played outside and in the mud ALL day

dinner – homemade hamburgers, french fries and sweet potato fries

felt pretty stuffed (and gross) from eating so much!!! made my hubby and I a protein pancake with strawberries….but what do you use when there is no syrup or cool whip for 30 miles ……..a drizzle of Mayhaw syrup!!!!!! 😉 {only in the country!}

lunch – flat out bread pizzas

*I picked Devyn up when they were passing through on their way home from Trek – she had such an awesome experience!!!! When we got back to my parents she walked in to my mom’s room and crashed on her bed for a good 3 hours! 😉

snacked on Dove dark chocolate while porch sittin’

lots of porch sittin’ :)  The weather was gorgeous and sunny!!!

I don’t think my kids wore shoes the whole time we were there 😉

the kids having a flower pickin’ contest! 😉

just chillin in the pasture

a little Blue Bell ice cream while sitting on the porch is always a must! 😉

I got snack-y cause my mother always has these kinds of things in her house :/ – these are soooo good!!!

first time trying these and they are soooo good!

These are only 2 points and really good!

dinner – my Daddy cooked us fresh pork ribs while my sister and I cooked the sides to go with it – she cooked cabbage, I cooked green beans and we had leftover fries

Slept in. Then when we got up we got busy packing and cleaned house then headed home so I could take my hubby for his {early} birthday present to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo tonight to see (my other man 😉 ) Jason Aldean in concert! 😉

We had to make a few stops on the way home. When we were leaving my sister told me about this shirt that I just NEEDED to get – so of course I HAD to stop and buy it – think it fits me??! 😉  Check out Lexy’s post HERE if you’re not sure……..hahahahaha

Gabe was so cute on the way home – he was cracking himself up and laughing so hard! (probably from exhaustion! 😉 )

one of my BFF’s came into town from Dallas this week and she and her girls came over before we left for the Rodeo!! I have MISSED HER!!!!!

on our way! 😉

Dinner while watching the Rodeo events – chopped BBQ sandwich.

**Little known fact about Me- I used to Rodeo when I was in high school with the Texas High School Rodeo Association. I did BreakAway Calf Roping and Goat Tying – and I have the pictures to prove it!   Those sure were fun times and being at the rodeo sure made me miss my rodeoing days. :) Maybe one of these days I will be able to get back into it. 😉

Jason Aldean! 😉

after the concert we made our way to the food pavilion and we ordered Fried Oreos and a Fried Oatmeal Cream Pie and a corn dog to share – and all I can say is it was AWESOME!!!!!!  but very rich! – I could only eat a few bites of each. It was fun to try it out!

I couldn’t resist! 😉

FRIDAY – 3/16

Slept in again. :)

Breakfast – oatmeal with cinnamon

Lunch – We met up with my friend Teri and her girls at La Brisa for lunch. I ordered my usual Chicken fajita lettuce wraps and ate wayyy too many chips and salsa while we chatted it up and got caught up.

Devyn went with them shopping and I took Gabe and my niece Cami home to rest and watch a movie.

I caught up on some of my shows and ended up having a snacking fest on EVERYTHING I had in my house!!

Skittles, chick-o-sticks, sun chips, bean dip………I don’t know what my problem was!

Later that night we met up with them again at Menchie’s – of course! 😉

my fav cake batter flavor is back!!! I also got chocolate silk with strawberries, mini chocolate chips and drizzle of hot fudge

Becca has long since passed Dev up in height!!

Tay & Jay wanted their picture taken with them too! 😉

*a little over 5 mile run with the gals that are in town 😉 It was nice to run and chat again!

After a speedy shower and getting dressed in record time – Lexy picked me up so we could make a WW meeting before the week was up.

post workout – ISO 100 whey protein shake – 2

It was really no surprise when I weighed in with a +2.4 gain.  I didn’t like it – but I weighed in and owned it and am moving on. I am fully aware of the choices I made all week to cause this and that’s ok. I know I am going to have to work harder this week because of the ‘break’ that I took this week. 😉

The meeting topic was about Negative Talk and was really good to be reminded on ways to turn it into Positive self talk.  (I will be posting the recap soon!)

Came home and got rest and read the latest book I downloaded onto my iBooks and get a power nap before having to get ready for a baby shower –

I had spaghetti squash, roasted veggies and alfredo on the way so I wouldn’t be tempted to eat cake 😉 – 2 {it worked}

Was SUPER tired after the shower and was ready to just vegg on the couch – I picked up Little Caesars pizza and Dr Pepper 10 and rented the Redbox movie Puss in Boots to watch as a family.

Dessert – a bowl of dutch chocolate Blue Bell ice cream with chocolate syrup 😉

SUNDAY – 3/18

Last day of Spring Break :(

My sweet hubby fixed me brunch that I ate on the way to church – eggs, roasted veggies and 2 pieces of Sara Lee toast

after church my kids shared some donut holes they got – that wasn’t satisfying enough so I ate my Zone bar I had cut into bite size pieces and had with me so I wouldn’t get home and rampage the kitchen!

I had to turn around and drive my niece to meet my mom half way so she could meet up with my sister when she got off work. It made for a long and tiring afternoon when I am used to taking a Sunday nap this time of day! 😉

As soon as we got home-  I dropped off Tay & Jay so they could ‘babysit’ Daddy {he was in bed all afternoon/evening with a migraine} and I took Dev and Gabe to the last Pioneer Trek Fireside. They had an amazing slideshow with awesome music that really gave us a glimpse of the AWESOME experience these youth had!!!

Goodbye Spring Break!!!  We will miss you.

Now the countdown for Summer begins! 😉

March – A New Month and I’m gonna SPRING Forward!

I feel a new season in the air!!! 😉

This past week has been THE week of appointments for our family – so it has been NUTS. My hubby had an Urgent Care clinic visit, MRI apt, primary doctor apt, apt with Torry, hair cut apt. Also our little man got a hair cut, I was on the phone for what felt like hours with our medical insurance and I  had appointments as well for myself with audiology, annual eye/contact exam, hair apt,  and 2 Relief Society church meetings all within Mon-Fri of this week. Like I said it has been crazy and so THIS post explained it all. I think all 3 of us (and most of you) are going through different things and craziness in our lives…couple it with the ‘winter’ weather and there you have it. The last few days of February I felt like I was just in survival mode.

Monday night we got a visit from Grandma Terry who was in town for a conference.

By Thursday – I was super duper excited that it was March the 1st!!!! March always feel like Spring is rapidly approaching – which I LOVE Spring weather!- but the funny thing is that here in Texas we haven’t even really had a winter yet….it has been really weird!  I love the change in seasons and am soooo looking forward to sunnier days!

I almost didn’t go to my WW meeting Thursday because I had eaten so MUCH CRAP all this week (and its also pms week – ugh!) so I was pretty scared of facing the scale since it would be my official weigh in for March. With my husband getting hurt and finding out he is now off work for another 2 weeks – I felt this urgency and anxiousness to force myself to get back into my routine and schedule on the first day of this new month especially since my routine had already been nonexistent the past 2 weeks. So after much mental debate – I decided it was what I needed to do or I would regret not going and feel behind all month.

I weighed in at exactly 140lbs – my WW goal weight.  I am still only 10lbs away from my personal goal but at the same time I am grateful that despite all the craziness I am maintaining where I have been. So I’ll take it. 😉

I set a new goal date in my TargetWeight app to try to get to my goal by Easter which is a little over 4 weeks away.

Thursday Fire Bites:

30 minutes on the elliptical at o’dark thirty!!!  +5

breakfast/post workout at WW meeting after weigh in – EAS ready to drink shake – 3

snack – ZonePerfect snack while running some much needed errands (and getting outta the house 😉 ) – 5

lunch – flat out bread pizza with 2tsp olive oil – 9

(I am so happy I can finally find my FAVORITE flat out bread at the store again!)

my hubby requested Dairy Queen on the way to get a treatment and I got what I thought was the 4pts+ dipped cone when this is really the 6 pts+ dipped cone. :/ oh well – lesson learned.

Later we met up with some of the other awesome Hinson ladies for dinner at Cheddars Casual Cafe before a broadcast for women at church.

Lexy, Devyn and I on our way

My not-so-baby-girl-anymore and I 😉

Me, Lexy, and Roxanne

Maddie and Devyn

Lexy, her mom Claretta and Aunt Windy <—-click their names to read about their incredible journeys!

Roxanne and Aunt Rodna  – gorgeous ladies!

I had never eaten there before and I was only briefly able to check out what they served on their menu on my phone during the day. I went on what Uncle Tim and Aunt Windy said was good and ordered the Hawaiian Chicken Salad – it was SOOO GOOD!!  I was really pleasantly surprised that all the flavors of the marinated grilled chicken, pineapple, salad greens, and the honey lime dressing all went awesomely together!! I will definitely be making my hubby take me there now for date night! I was also really proud of Devyn for making a healthy choice for dinner – she ordered the grilled salmon and picked green beans and sweet baby carrots for sides instead of getting a huge pasta creamy alfredo dish she was eyeing at first. 😉

after the awesome and uplifting conference Lexy, Devyn and I stopped by and tried a new FroYo place called Menchie’s right around the corner from our usual place we go to. It was a super cute little place with lots of good CREAMY flavors and  fun different toppings! I tried the cake batter and chocolate silk and it was to die for!!!! YUM-O!!  I will definitely be going back! 😉

FRIDAY Fire Bites:

Today was Rodeo Day at school for Gabe since its Houston Rodeo Time!! 😉

He was lovin’ it!  😉

breakfast was a protein waffle on the way to my eye exam

then a Zone bar on the way to my hair apt after checking in on my boys who were in bed watching movies all day 😉

I cracked myself up when I looked up in the mirror and saw this – I felt like a lioness with all that hair on top of my head! The price to try and look cute!!! ;D

sporting a look with bangs this time for something different

found this in my cabinet – ugh – I thought it was 5 points but it is actually SEVEN pts+!!!!!!! geez- sooo not worth it.

flat out bread pizza with turkey pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, spinach and cheese with 2tsp EVOO – 9

Uncle Jim came and got the birthday girls to take them and get manicures and pedicures….and the next thing I know he was texting me pics of a surprise shopping spree!!!!!

of course they were LOVIN IT!!!

then they got their mani’s and pedi’s……

Devyn went along with them and they all LOVED the pampering!!!!  (now my feet are feeling a little left out! 😉 )

Thanks Uncle JIM!!!!!!!
