To function or not to function…that is the question!

I choose my featured image picture because it portrays perfectly my current state of being…plus Torry (Lexy’s husband) thought it was really scary 😉  Then they all tried to copy my face.

Week 2 and 3 as a mother of 2.  There was lots of exhaustion, several naps, one night of my awesome hubby letting me sleep through the night in the upstairs bedroom, 2 walks up the hill (1 that included Keller in body armor and lots of lunges and squats), 1 run on the treadmill (1 day following regretting this run), 1 workout with Keller’s TRX bands, one date night, Easter Sunday, Keller starting a training and being gone all day every day, field trips to the Hill Aerospace museum and the Natural History museum, and the beginning of Crystal Light Energy helping me make it through the day.

Weight Loss and Exercise:

I’m making Friday my weigh in days until I can get to my meetings.  There are Thursday night meetings up here in Park City that I need to start attending, but it hasn’t worked out with schedules yet.  My total weight gain for my pregnancy was 28 pounds, according to my first weigh-in at my Dr’s office, 33 pounds if you count from my last WW weigh in.  So on 3/30 I was down 12.5 pounds, on 4/6 I was down another 8.2, and today I was down another 3.5 for a total loss of 24.2lbs.  I have been semi counting points.  I really have not been that hungry, so I’m pretty sure I’m staying within my daily allotted.  I’m trying to ease back into my workouts because I do feel better on the days that I get to workout, but most days I’m so tired the thought of exuding enough energy to put my tennis shoes on is overwhelming!  I’m one of those people that DO NOT function well without sleep.  So getting back to a normal daily routine is going to take a little bit, but I’m taking it one day at a time.

The best part of my week was doing this walk with Keller.  We walked up the hill and every 5 minutes stopped and did 20 walking lunges.  At the top I did 3 sets of 10 push-ups and on the way down we did 20 squats every 5 minutes.  I was definitely sore the next day!

This was my “It Begins” face.

I didn’t take a picture of my…”oh crap that really hurt” face.

Food and Points:

I’m still using my dietSNAPS app and taking pictures of everything I eat.  I haven’t gone back to entering my food in the WW app yet.  And as for posting everything I eat, I don’t think anyone wants to look at a post with 2 weeks worth of food pics so for now I will take it one day at a time.  I definitely feel like I’m not as hungry and I’m trying to take advantage of that feeling cause I’m sure it won’t last long.  It’s like I’m too tired to care about eating.  I’m trying to stay away from crap, most of my meals are the usual protein pancakes, green greek smoothies, greek yogurts, mint cookie Balance Bars, fruit, and just trying to stick with veggies and protein for dinner with the occasional indulgences.

Oh and of course, the Coke Zero’s…Mommy’s milk and Cruz’s milk!

Last Saturday night we took family pictures in a beautiful orchard in Kaysville.  It was a little chilly, but the boys were troopers and I can’t wait to see how the pictures turned out!  We stopped at In-N-Out for dinner on the way home.   We were all so hungry and I enjoyed every bite of my hamburger and shared some of Cole’s fries and chocolate shake while he covered his face with stickers.  Not sure why he loves to put stickers there.  Good thing he doesn’t have a hairy face!

We had a great Easter.  Cole loved dyeing eggs in Kool aid.  Thank you Pinterest!

Easter Sunday was probably my best day.  I think it was because I had finally caught up on a little sleep.  We took pics on the porch after church, poor Cruz just looks like he’s squished!

And then enjoyed the beautiful weather with a picnic lunch outside.

This week the best days were when we went on field trips with our cousins.  It usually ends up taking forever, but I love being able to get out of the house.  I’m trying to get my vitamin D and endorphins everyday, cause otherwise I end up feeling totally crappy and even more tired.

This was Monday at the Hill Aerospace Museum.

And this was Thursday at the Utah Natural History Museum.

All in all I’m doing my best and that’s all I can do.  I’m trying not to stress about things I can’t control (which is super hard for me).  We have a lot going on in our lives right now and we seem to be in a constant state of chaos and change.  I hope one day I can feel like I have a normal life, but I’m not sure that’s going to happen anytime soon.  And I just have to say to all the moms out there especially to ones with multiple children close in age or to those who’s husbands are gone all the time or those who don’t live by family…so pretty much any mom out there…you are amazing!  Being a mom is hard work and any one who says different should be punched in the face :).  So here’s my salute to mom’s everywhere!

Our next shirts we’re gonna make are gonna say ‘We Run to Eat’!!!! 😉

Later that afternoon we had Taylor & Jayde’s birthday party with family. They were sooo excited to get to play with all their cousins.

They wanted a candy party – so we had a ton of different kinds of candies out for the kids to snack on along with some chips & homemade salsa and a veggie tray to try and balance out all that sugar. 😉  The candy ended up being the kids treats to take home. (their parents really loved me!!)

so I had to make this candy cake idea I saw on Pinterest – I made a 2 layer chocolate cake with strawberry frosting in the middle and then whipped milk chocolate frosting on the outside. Then I used regular sized KitKat bars to line the sides and covered the top in M&M’s. It was really sweet but really fun and good!!  I served it up with Blue Bell vanilla ice cream of course! 😉

They loved opening all their cute gifts and getting $$ for their birthday -they can’t wait to wear all their new cute stuff and  go on a shopping spree now!

birthday cake time!

I think the trampoline was pretty maxxed out!!!

Gabe and his cousin Sadie trying to be the center of attention 😉

I am proud of myself that I didn’t eat any candy off the table (I really was just not feeling good so wasn’t hungry) but I just had a small piece of cake and ice cream. As soon as everyone left after visiting, I started feeling worse and worse by the minute with sinus pressure, headache, sneezing, sore throat, my nose started running like a faucet and I think just sheer exhaustion. I’m so glad it held off but man it hit me like a freight train. I feel asleep on the couch and then my husband woke me up so I decided to take my supplements and go to bed.

keep calm

December Motivation!!

With December here and all the food goodies and parties that come along with it……I am going to have to fight hard to stay on track!!! I am already finding it hard and Christmas isn’t even here yet!!

When I came across these on Pinterest the other day I knew that I needed to post them up here as motivation for me and hopefully y’all too!  to be able to get through this month. I need to print them all off and hang them on my bathroom mirror.

I hope that these will motivate us all as this month of Christmas craziness begins!!

I am really hoping it’ll start today –  because tonight I am hosting a Cookie Exchange/Appetizer Sampler party and I have lots on my to-do list!   ;/

Happy December!!!! 😉

Banana Peanut Butter Soft Serve

Carman posted this on our new Fire Lites Fire Pinterest page the other day and I knew I wanted to try it soon!  I have made Frozen Banana Soft Serve before, but adding peanut butter and cocoa just sounds awesome!!!  Yesterday afternoon, I noticed I had some bananas that were going bad, so I sliced them up and put them in the freezer!  After my lunch today… I was ready for a frozen treat!

1 – Grab frozen bananas out of the freezer and put them in the food processor…

2 – Start the food processor and let it run for approximately 45 seconds…. be patient… it will look like this for a while.

3 – At some point… it magically turns into soft serve “banana” ice cream!!!

4 – I added 1 T of peanut butter and 1/2 t of cocoa… and let ‘er rip…

5 – You are left with Banana Peanut Butter Soft Serve!!  Yummy!!!!  And only 2 Points Plus!

Here’s where the idea came from on Pinterest!!!

I’m Back!! Finally!

I’m back!!!!!!   Aren’t y’all proud?! 😉

tried Tony Horton’s P90X Stretch cause I have been super sore but more STIFF than anything from Spin and BodyPump earlier this week. It was really good and helped stretch a lot of my reallllllyy sore areas. I really liked how the tip of the day for this workout was to focus on *breathing*……once I really focused on it I could tell a HUGE difference!

+2 activity points

as I type this……banana w/ nutella – 5pts+

**confessional – I cannot buy nutella and have it in my house ANYMORE! I swear I have become a ‘closet’ nutella eat-it-with-a-spoon- eater!!!  The past couple weeks the BLT’s {bites, licks, & tastes} of everything are what are adding up and making me  backslide into snacking too much!! I am starting to recognize ‘new trigger’ foods that I cannot buy and keep in my house because when I’m tired, bored, lonely, emotional, stressed, or just missing my husband…….this is the kind of stuff I grab because in the beginning I think one bite is no big deal…..its just a ‘bite’……well then that ‘bite’ adds up to alotta points and then you are not getting the results you want!!! Back to reality.**
