A Few Tid Bits Of Info

A few things I forgot to mention… We were interviewed on Healthy Living Blogs!  It was posted on November 18th and with the Thanksgiving Holiday, I just can’t remember if I mentioned it or not???  Check it out HERE! I also updated the Press Page with my mom’s feature on the Enell site!

Tonight we were able to participate in the Blog To Lose Chat.  Blog To Lose is a community that Roni created for weight loss bloggers. They offer support and encouragement as everyone strives to reach their personal goals! It’s free to join, so check it out!!

Again, I’ve been needing to get to the grocery store! My food intake for the last 2 days has been pretty bazaar! Nevertheless…. here it is:

Tuesday:

Oatmeal W/ Raspberries – 4 pts

The “left over sips” of Ty’s shake after his orthodontist appointment – 4 pts (I looked up and found out a small shake is 12 pts!)

Zone Bar – 5 pts

Protein Pancake covered in sugar free pudding – 7 pts

Two Hot Dogs! -10 pts

Fiber One Bar – 4 pts

Grapes – 0 pts

Cream Of Wheat – 3 pts

I didn’t work out in the morning because I took my oldest son to the orthodontist… so headed up for some evening cardio. 1 hour on the elliptical +10 pts

Whey Protein Fruit Smoothie – 2 pts

And then knocked out my 29 burpees! Really wish I wouldn’t have waited until 9pm to get them finished!

Wednesday:

Pre-Run Peanut Butter – 5 pts

*Ran 5 miles and completed my 30 burpees* +8 pts

Protein Pancake – 5 pts

Fiber One Brownie – 2 pts

Butternut Squash Fries – 0 pts

Roasted Veggies W/ 1/4 Cup Alfredo – 2 pts

Turkey Swiss Melt W/ Grapes – 4 pts

Whey Protein Fruit Smoothie – 2 pts

Yes… Sugar Cookies for dinner…. had to make them for a youth activity…. and really just couldn’t resist!

My weekend started out great with a 5 mile run.  I needed it after being cooped up in the house all week working on the computer.  My Dad called and invited my boys to work with him for the day…  that was a fun and unexpected surprise for me!  I finally decided to take my computer in to the Apple Store.  It’s been running slow and I’ve been wanting/needing to deal with it.  Being forced to take a break from technology, I decided to do something out of the ordinary!  Haha… for me that is…. I went to Nordstrom Rack.  It was fun!!  And of course, I was overwhelmed with all of the options…

After a while, I headed over to my parents house to check in on the fun…. My parents are remodeling their kitchen. This is my dad and his brother, two of my brothers, and my boys…

I *forced* them to do this….  and they loved it…

We headed back to the Apple Store to pick up the computer that wasn’t ready…. so we ate and walked around the mall.

And when we got home, I made these!!!  I used to make these a long time ago when I first started Weight Watchers.  I was reminded of them on Peanut Butter Fingers website… HERE is a link to her post.  Remind me not to make these for a very long time.  They were so yummy and I basically had no will power.

Tonight, the girls and I had a mini discussion on comparing ourselves to others… It’s so hard not to do this.  I posted this little message on my mirror because it is something I really struggle with.  It’s hard not to let the negative little emotions take over my brain.

I’m so grateful to have Carman and Cyndi in my life.  Because I only have brother’s… I really appreciate the “girl” friends and family that I have. It’s so nice to be able to relax and be yourself.

Cyndi took us to the H.I.T. Center… for some HIGH INTENSITY TRAINING!

And this is the night we vowed to make a change!!!

My food choices this weekend consisted of oatmeal with bananas, zone bars, frozen yogurt, cereal, blueberry muffins, a banana, protein pancake with pears, Chickfila salads, Twix and Snickers from my mom’s candy jar, Subway turkey sandwich, PUMPKIN SPICE COOKIES, pizza, and chocolate chip cookies….

I had a “who cares” attitude this weekend and now I’m craving a vegetable!  This weekend is in the books… looking forward to boot camp tomorrow!!  :)

I HIGHLY recommend listening to AT LEAST the first question that Roni answers on this video…  :)

Something REALLY cool happened today…. I have been a long time fan of Roni’s Weigh and today she featured my story on her Blog To Lose site!  Thank you so much Roni!  She has shared so many of her experiences, tips/kitchen ideas, struggles, success, etc on her site for many years…. she has made a HUGE impact on me over the years.  :)

Now that I’m getting more settled into the new house, I’m ready to change things up with my eating routine.  As you can probably tell, I get stuck on the same foods over and over and over.  When I first discovered the Protein Pancake I thought I had died and gone to heaven!  I’m not even close to being sick of them yet, so you will still be seeing those daily!
I was talking to my mom (Claretta) yesterday about how I always eat the same things everyday.  You can pretty much count on a Whey Protein Fruit Smoothie, Protein Pancake, Turkey Chili, Zone Bar, Frozen Yogurt, Chickfila or McDonald’s Salad, etc…. you get the idea.  I’m pretty “simple” when it comes to the food I like.  I have never been a fan of the kitchen… until recently.  I LOVE to find quick and healthy meal ideas.  I found Roni’s Weigh back in 2006 or 2007 and instantly liked her blog.  She is great about explaining her meals in a step by step fashion… which I not only needed, but loved!  Today she posted this lunch idea.  It looks awesome!  I didn’t have those exact ingredients on hand, so I worked with what I had.
Turkey Cheese Melt
Nature’s Own 100% Sandwich Rounds, Oscar Meyer Smoked Turkey deli meat, Maple Grove Farms FF Poppyseed dressing, Weight Watchers cheese slice, spinach, and tomato
Assembled the sandwich and placed it in the preheated George Foreman grill… (300F)
And paired it with the Hungry Girl salad I made earlier in the week.  It was cheesy goodness!  4 Points Plus!
