Cathy, The Phenom

this is cathy!  (the “phenom”)
i’ve known her for about 12 years!  she was my initial motivation to wanting to run a marathon.
this is her in the last mile of her first full 26.2 mile marathon.
she always had encouraging words for me…  not sure if you can read the sweet message that she wrote to me back in 2001-2002…
we’ve spent hours and hours talking about working out, eating good food, and me wanting to make a change!  she is the one who initially told me about weight watchers.  we’ve checked in with each other almost daily for YEARS with our work outs…
she believed in me when i didn’t believe in myself.
when i thought i would never get to the other side.
i hated this pic…. another wake up call that i needed to make a change!!
the first time we had seen each other since i lost about 25 lbs!!
one of our races together…
it’s great to have certain people in come into your life that are a joy to be around.
she is the kind of person i would like to become.  very happy, motivating and uplifting!
i am so thankful that i had her as a friend back then… very non judge mental.
a couple of weeks ago, we were able to go running together for the first time in quite a while.  we’ve lived in separate cities, she had a baby recently, and we just haven’t been able to run a race in a while.  but i went out to her place and we ran a quick 5 miles together.  oh how the times have changed.  it was so cool to be able to catch up, enjoy an early morning run, and realize how much i have changed….. both inside and out.  thanks cathy!!!!!  :)

About Lexy

40 years old, "stay at home mom" to 2 boys (ages 16 and 14), wife to a chiropractic kinesiologist! I love blogging and learning new ideas. I follow the Weight Watchers Points Plus program and enjoy working out. I have run 2 full 26.2 mile marathons and 3 half marathons... and many 10k and 5k's. I love taking BodyPump classes and lifting weights. Working out has always been fun for me, but I struggle with eating healthy. Blogging has introduced me to a world of healthy eaters... When I first started WW... I just wanted someone to tell me what to eat! I didn't like cooking and I am not the kind of person that can just throw things together. There are tons of ideas out there and I love finding new and fun ones that I feel like I am capable of making myself!
