The Twilight Zone

After my wild weekend, I’m back to keeping better track of my points. I read an article on the WW website and this part of it really hit home… it was talking about the post-weigh in “free for all”… that pretty much described my weekend. 😉

They refer to this “free for all” period of time as the twilight zone…. when you indulge with reckless abandon in foods that you otherwise might carefully use portion control.

“So, why are we tempted to jeopardize our success? The ‘twilight zone’ may originate from too much restriction and deprivation. Having been ‘good’ all week could possibly make you feel like you need to reward yourself before you gear back up again for the remainder of the week. I must confess that I’ve experienced my fair share of twilight-zone moments. But five years into the program, my main goal is to incorporate everything I love into my plan, so that I never feel the need to “check out.” There’s not an overnight cure, but attending meetings, watching my emotional responses and focusing on my true goals have made them happen less and less frequently. I try to remind myself: “If I always do what I always did, I will always get what I always got.” -Maria Kinirons

Was so happy that the boys agreed to go for a walk around the neighborhood this evening. They are so cute and it’s always fun to see what they have to talk about…

About Lexy

40 years old, "stay at home mom" to 2 boys (ages 16 and 14), wife to a chiropractic kinesiologist! I love blogging and learning new ideas. I follow the Weight Watchers Points Plus program and enjoy working out. I have run 2 full 26.2 mile marathons and 3 half marathons... and many 10k and 5k's. I love taking BodyPump classes and lifting weights. Working out has always been fun for me, but I struggle with eating healthy. Blogging has introduced me to a world of healthy eaters... When I first started WW... I just wanted someone to tell me what to eat! I didn't like cooking and I am not the kind of person that can just throw things together. There are tons of ideas out there and I love finding new and fun ones that I feel like I am capable of making myself!
