Thoughts on pregnancy and exercise…and a delivery from Daddy!

Nothing too exciting happening here.  Just going through the motions until Daddy gets home in 14 days!!!!  My baby is going to come out riding a spin bike and doing burpees on a Bosu ball, but I am so grateful that I feel good enough to keep up with my workouts.  I feel like it makes all the difference in the world!  When the doctor heard the murmur in the baby’s heart beat, I was worried it might have something to do with the amount and type of exercise I do, but my doctor quickly reassured me it did not.  My friend Heidi and I were talking tonight about it because my mom thinks I exercise too much and makes comments about it not being good for me.  Heidi said that her mom said the same thing to her and we wondered if it was a generational thing.  Everything you read now about exercise during pregnancy only lists multiple benefits that come of it, as long as the woman is healthy, was already doing some sort of physical activity before pregnancy (or begins a new routine slowly), and isn’t high risk or experiencing any complications.  Before I was pregnant with Cole, I hadn’t been exercising at all, so I started with just walking on the treadmill every day.  I was able to build up to walking for longer, faster, and even add inclines, but it was gradual.  This time is much different and it feels great!

Snacks while volunteering at the hospital:

Disappointing snack after volunteering: so the hospital I volunteer for is almost famous for their food.  The Chef they have used to be the executive chef for Bill Gates.  Everything I have tried so far has been sooo good and always really healthy.  I hadn’t tried their pizzas yet which I always hear people raving about.  I got the tomato and chicken pizza to take home, had a quarter and was very disappointed.  It lacked serious flavor, which was fine, cause then I didn’t end up eating the whole thing!

Got a major headache and wasn’t really hungry for dinner.  Since I’m pregnant and can’t take Excedrin (which I’m usually addicted to), I put some of my mom’s peppermint oil on my temples and at the base of my head.  Took about an hour, but it finally started going away.  Eventually ate this for dinner:

Thursday Fire Bites:

Pre-buns and guns class: see Wednesday…same

Awesome class today, we used weights and a Bosu ball.  Lots of dynamic exercises (meaning exercises that use lower body and upper body at the same time, ex, a squat with an overhead press).  The teacher also usually does ab work on the floor at the end of class which I usually leave for, but this time she did it standing up.  So lots of side crunches and things that I could participate in.  Love, love, love this class!

The boys had skiing today and my mom really wanted to try this restaurant that is right at the ski resort where we drop them off.  So my mom, dad, and I had lunch at The Farm.

Lunch: Chicken sandwich on ciabatta w/yellow peppers, caramelized onions, sun dried tomatoes, and a kalamata olive cream cheese (which I asked for on the side afraid I wouldn’t like it, but it turned out to absolutely MAKE the sandwich!) and a side salad

After skiing we hustled home, changed, and headed down to salt lake to take back the ski’s, drop J off at Taekwondo and Cole and I headed to a birthday party.  The party was at a bouncy house which they don’t have a lot of here in Utah as compared to Texas.  Cole had a blast!!

The mom of the birthday boy, Andrea, we used to work together at the radio station.  She’s holding her brand new addition to their family, Issac.  Such a cutie!

They had pizza, salad, cake and ice cream at the party, but luckily I wasn’t really hungry so instead I had 1/2 my protein bar on the way home.  And then of course when I got home I was starving, so I had another bowl of my leftover Chicken Enchilada Veggie Soup.

I was really tired today and ended taking a nap at like 12:30.  When I woke up I grabbed a snack and headed to the outlets to try and find some jeans.

Snack: Trader Joe’s nuts and cranberries

No luck!  Picked up Cole and we headed to Taekwondo, then out to dinner to Bombay House with Heidi and her family.  I love that restaurant!

Dinner: shared a few different dishes, chicken tikka masala, shrimp coconut curry, tandoori chicken and some naan.

Little Ezra really wanted dessert after dinner, so I told him I would make him cookies.  We went back to Heidi’s and the kids played and the adults talked and made cookies.  Cyndi’s REAL cookies were requested instead of the WW ones.  They turned out delicious.  It was a fun night!

Came home and found a surprise.  Isn’t Daddy sweet!
