What Stresses You About the Holidays?

I’m up in the country visiting my parents for the week and so I went with our Aunt Jackie to a Weight Watchers meeting today and so she could check out a new location.

‘Let’s talk turkey’ 😉
The meeting topic was – Who or what stresses you about the holidays?

Some stresses are:

Relatives
Getting everything ready at the same time and IN time
Clean house getting food together
Traveling
Traffic
Too many food choices
All that cooking!
Leftovers
Shopping for everything
Not knowing the menu

Many family’s have – Food pushers
‘I made it just for you.’
We have to remember that its not us – It’s abt them.

Reasons why people are food pushers:

Sabatoge – jealousy, resentment, frustration with themselves
They love people with food
they love the praise and/or flattery

What do we say to a FP aka food pusher not fat person! hahaha
No thank you
Put theem off

Tips for if ur hosting Thanksgiving:
Set the table now
Don’t wait to count forks & chairs till tomorrow
Clean early or surface clean only
Recheck shopping list
Chop veggies or buy prechopped
Delegate chores & menu
Buy glad bowls with kids
KEEP IT SIMPLE

Last minute T-day tips: 
Do not skip breakfast!! very important!!
Don’t forget portions matter- use your WW measuring ladles!!
Use a smaller plate
Drink water!
Check out the table first
pile your plate of veggies
TNT- use the ‘things not touching’ on your plate rule to not overload your plate
Eat while sitting down
Don’t hover over food table
Don’t sit next to someone you used to get in trouble with

What are you thankful for?
#1 should be that we’re on this side of the grass!!! hahahaha 😉

36 year old military wife of 18 years and stay at home mom to 4 incredible kids (3 girls ages 17, 11, 11 and our son is 6). I love to cook and I love converting my favorite recipes into a healthier version for my family to enjoy! I love the after effects of exercising :) I love challenging myself to fitness goals to change things up and in doing so I have run numerous 5K/10K's, several half marathons, one full 26.2 marathon, and a Tough Mudder. I love circuit training, weight training, and running sprints. My goal is to inspire others to take their health seriously, and to show how small changes can lead to big results.
