Will They Like It? Roasted Potatoes, Chicken Sausage, and Peppers
I am making an effort to try new meals. I decided it would be fun… and could become part of the blog to experiment with my boys. I will make something new (hopefully) once a week…. and see what their reaction is……. I am not good at making up my own recipes, so I will find ones that I think I can attempt on different healthy living blogs. If you have any suggestions, leave them in the comment section!!
I have heard so many good things about Skinnytaste! I finally decided to check it out. I went straight to the Kids Friendly Meals section to see what I could find. I came across Roasted Potatoes, Chicken Sausage, and Peppers. <— Click the link for full recipe. This looked easy enough, so I gave it a whirl…. (y’all probably know I don’t love to cook?!?)

This was my favorite part… haha…. cutting veggies!

I don’t really have a big enough pan, so I divided it among these two…

They cooked for approximately 45 minutes….

It turned out great!

The boys and I even sat at the table together for dinner! Baby steps….. Since it was a totally new meal, I just gave them a small bowl. Surprise of the night was when Ty said he LOVED red peppers! Kody liked the sausage, but did not really like the “burned” parts on the potato wedges… Woohoo!

Kody also requested something with Spaghetti Squash for next week! Overall- I’m counting this as a success! I thought it tasted great and it was an 8 pt dinner!

Thanks for the recipe- it looks good. Great job on your “baby steps.” I think it’s awesome that you’re trying a new recipe every week because I gotta say I’M even getting bored seeing all the protein pancakes/waffles you eat! Ha! Although I haven’t had a chance to try them, and I’m still planning on it, now that I can go to a store and get myself some protein powder.
Also- how about a post discussing your experience on protein powders- which is best tasting/healthiest/where do you purchase/etc. for those of us who haven’t used it much.
